In the 1890s, the literary career of the young writer Olha Kobylianska was rather successful. She kept in touch with the talented young writer Vasyl Stefanyk and was invited to Kyiv , where she met many outstanding figures of Dnipro Ukraine of that time: Lesia Ukrainka, Olena Pchilka, Mykola Lysenko, Mykhailo Kotsiubynskyi. But in her personal life, Olha felt lonely, especially when Osyp Makovei left Chernivtsi for Lviv to work in Literary Scientific Herald magazine. However, Olha did everything possible to make Makovei return to Bukovyna.
