The series “The Game of Destiny” was created after the Orange Revolution, in 2005. That was the emotional response of the authors to the hope of Ukrainians for the changes, to the desire to know more positive things about ourselves and our history. We believed that it was very important to offer the viewers the interesting stories about Ukrainians, the stories that were not imposed by neighbouring countries, the stories told in Ukrainian language. We knew that it would be a challenge to speak our mother tongue from the screen and to make many different persons interested in our project. Natalka Sopit, one of the authors, the narrator and the symbol of the series “The Game of Destiny” addressed the viewers with warmth and affection. That is why “The Game of Destiny” has already been broadcasted in Ukraine for years. And now, due to the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, we have an opportunity to make the series available to a broader range of viewers even beyond Ukraine due to the English subtitles.
Find the Youtube channel of “The Game of Destiny” and watch more than 100 films telling the love stories of famous persons. We were filming all over Ukraine, we visited many cities, villages and farmsteads where the people we talk about were staying at those times. Store-rooms and vaults, museums and reserves, libraries and archives opened their doors for us. We were welcomed everywhere we went for shooting or to demonstrate our films. We received the support of the benefactors, philanthropists and sponsors. Our friends and unknown people told us the interesting stories about love. We received letters from Switzerland, Mongolia and Canada, we visited the festivals in the Czech Republic and Poland, we shared our films with the Ukrainian societies in Przemysl, London and Kazan.
