Franz Liszt prepared for the encounter with Karolina in Weimar. But her relatives firmly opposed her relationship with the musician. That was why Karolina secretly crossed the border together with her daughter. The gates of Europe closed behind her back forever. For 12 years, the lovers had been trying to obtain a permission for marriage in Vatican. But the dreams of Liszt and Karolina never came true.
