In the spring of 1901, Lesia Ukrainka, whom she had befriended back in Kyiv, visited her in Chernivtsi. Kobylianska spent a lot of time with Lesia, because Lesia had just lost her beloved one and felt exhausted and ill. At the same time, the relationship between Kobylianska and Osyp Makovei also culminated. Olha vainly tried to win his affection by offering to live together. Back then, such an offer was a bold move, but it could not melt the heart of Makovei. And they broke up forever.
