Khmelnytsky was rebuilding the statehood of Ukraine. He married Hanna Zolotarenko and arranged the marriage between his son Tymish and the daughter of the ruler of Moldavia Lupul. But Tymish died in the battle of Suchava. Exhausted by war, Bohdan concluded the Pereiaslav Agreement with Moscovia.
